THE ARTIST · ORLANDO, FL
Roberto Leon
I’m Roberto Leon, a working artist based in Orlando, Florida, and I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. For me, painting is freedom, meditation, and a place where I can lose myself for hours in a canvas—it’s music to my eyes. Each canvas begins with an idea that I carry with me: something I saw, a desire, a memory, a feeling, or a moment that stays with me and asks to be brought to life. My favorite medium is oil paint, without a doubt, but sometimes I love building mixed-media backgrounds layer by layer, adding texture, color, and unexpected details before finishing the piece with expressive oil paint. For me, every painting is a challenge and, in the end, a way to explore my emotions while inviting others into the world I see.
Creative vision
I make art because I want to capture the emotions that sometimes I cannot express. I hope my paintings bring energy and emotion into a room, stop people for a moment, and make them feel something personal—a memory, a connection, or simply the desire to look a little longer. For me, the greatest compliment is when someone walks away from my work feeling something they didn’t expect.
